Supported Charity Lucky Draw Project
After the devastating earthquake in May 2008, The Swiss Community Project has been established to reconstruct a Kindergarten School in one of the worst affected areas - Longxing, Sichuan.
The project is under the patronage of the Ambassador of Switzerland to China, the Swiss General Consuls and has already been supported by a number of major Swiss businesses.
We are pleased to report substantial progress on the construction of the school, with most of the foundations in place and the required permits, quality and safety controls being close to completion.
There is still much work to do to complete the main construction plus the landscaping and interior construction activities. We also have discovered additional requirements, such as ensuring safe and purified water supply, which require additional efforts and funding.
Furthermore, it is the objective of the project to provide not just the physical building but also additional benefits such as an on-going maintenance fund, teacher training, additional educational materials (e.g.books), etc..
For these additional benefits we ask for your support to help boost our current donations so we can provide the best environment and opportunity for the children of Longxing, Sichuan.
